Blind Sports & Recreation Victoria is seeking a super fit running buddy for a gentleman who is blind living in Ballan, Victoria.

You will accompany this participant on the 6km Wendouree Lake Track loop in Ballarat each week or fortnight, so that he can build his fitness and feel socially connected. Weekday availability is ideal.

You will be part of the Walking with Willpower program (or in this case the Running with Willpower), which aims to increase fitness, well-being and community involvement for adults who are blind or vision impaired.

As a friendly, volunteer running buddy you need to be more than 18 years of age, and be up-to-date with your Covid-19 vaccinations.

Recruitment involves an interview, police and referee checks and completion of short training on how to best assist a person who has vision loss whilst out walking / running.

If you are interested in volunteering, or you would like to find out what other volunteer opportunities are available, please contact Miriam by phone or email:
