Seeking a Walking Buddy in Broadmeadows. A wonderful volunteer role.

Join us so others can join in!

Blind Sports & Recreation Victoria is currently seeking a volunteer to accompany a blind lady living in Broadmeadows on weekly walks in her local area. You need to be reliable, enjoy walking and chatting. Help this lady explore her suburb, get fit and feel socially connected!

You will be part of the Walking with Willpower program, which aims to increase fitness, well-being and community involvement for adults who are blind or vision impaired.

As a friendly, volunteer walking buddy you need to be more than 18 years of age, with a positive attitude towards people with disabilities.

Recruitment involves an interview, police and referee checks and completion of short training on how to best assist a person who has vision loss whilst out walking. We provide training so you can feel confident to assist, join in, have fun, stay healthy and be involved too.

Try something new and make a positive difference to the quality of life of somebody in your local community. Join our friendly team of volunteers. Volunteers gain great benefit from assisting people who are blind or vision impaired, while enjoying many valued experiences.
