Meet Blind Sports and Recreation Victoria Ambassador, Terry

Terry has been involved in Blind Sports and Recreation Victoria since 2006. Terry plays tennis socially and says he "loves the feeling of hitting a winner." Terry was so proud to represent Australia in the Blind Tennis Tournament in Japan. This event was a huge highlight - "I never thought I would ever travel overseas and play tennis," he said.

Terry really enjoys the social aspect of playing tennis. He likes to arrive early to have a chat with Maurice, Riley and others who attend.

Terry is someone who loves to learn and to be independent. He produces a weekly music program called 'Friday Celebrations' which is sent to people in Australia and internationally. During lockdown due to Covid-19, Terry purchased and learned how to use the equipment needed to produce a such a wonderful music program which helps people to stay connected, entertained and involved. Terry said that he wanted to achieve something he has only dreamed of all of his life.

He says" "I am so proud and honoured to be involved as an Ambassador for Blind Sports and Recreation Victoria; and I look forward to helping out where I'm needed. It is such an opportunity for me.”
