Frogs, Furs and Friendship at the Junior Rangers Program.

On Friday the 3rd of October, three primary school aged children with vision loss had the opportunity to attend Parks Victoria’s Junior Rangers Program.

The group met at Woodlands Historic Park in Greenvale and were greeted by experienced park ranger, Julia, who had a table of taxidermy animals and animal fur for the kids to touch and learn about as well as a treasure chest full of animal bones and skulls still with teeth attached.

Participants also enjoyed a walk around the dam listening to frog calls, touching silver wattle seed pods and learning how to identify an ants’ nest. Afterwards, the group gathered for a picnic lunch and social catch-up.

Thank you to Hume City Council for supporting this event.
