Twelve adventurous participants with vision loss gathered on Wednesday, August 27th, for a memorable day. The morning began at The Boathouse Restaurant in Moonee Ponds with delicious morning tea and lively conversation, then, braving a gusty river breeze, everyone set out along the Maribyrnong River.
The highlight of the outing was a sensory-rich, interactive journey through The Playground Project exhibition at the Incinerator Gallery—a celebration of play and creativity. Participants crawled through Yvan Pestalozzi’s iconic Lozziwurm playground structure and explored Simon Terrill’s recycled confetti-coloured foam installation.
This day was made possible thanks to the generous support of Moonee Valley City Council City Council, the dedicated efforts of Jade Niklai (Head of Visual & Public Art at Incinerator Gallery), and the invaluable assistance of BSRV volunteers Darren, John, Carmel, Liz, and Cassandra.
