Blind Sports & Recreation Victoria (BSRV), in partnership with Leisurelink, will continue to offer an Aqua Fit program designed for adults who are blind or have low vision in Geelong.
Once our FREE Pilot Program sessions finishes on the 18 November, the Aqua Fit sessions will continue to run throughout the school term on Wednesdays from 2pm to 2:45pm. The remaining 6 weeks of term will continue at the usual casual group booking fee.
Participants are encouraged to bring a support person or friend to join them in the water at no cost.
There as so many benefits to participating in aqua fitness including -
- Low impact exercise
- Water supports the body, putting less stress on your joints and muscles
- Working out in water helps build strength
- The impact of gravity is less in the water allowing a greater range of motion
When:
Wednesdays, 2.00pm to 2:45pm - during school terms. No sessions on public holidays.
Where:
Leisurelink Aquatic and Recreation Centre, located at 240 Pioneer Road, Waurn Ponds. VIC. 3216.

Travel by public transport:
The closest bus stop is at Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre via Bus 40, 41, or 42.
Parking: There is free parking at the venue and 12 accessible parking spaces available.
Cost:
Free. The cost of the Pilot Program, last session 18 November, will be covered by BSRV for all participants and their carer/ support person.
From 25 November participants will need to pay the usual casual group booking concession price $13.95 or purchase an Aqua Accessibility 25 pass available at the counter. Please bring proof of concession/ pension with you to qualify. Carers/ support people remain free.
