YOU CAN BOWL SOCIALLY, IN A LEAGUE, OR REPRESENT YOUR STATE/COUNTRY IF YOU WISH. BEING BLIND OR VISION IMPAIRED DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU HAVE TO STOP PLAYING A SPORT. 3rd IBSA WORLD TENPIN BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Australia won 18 medals, which included 2 gold medals for Susan (SA). Congratulations to Allan Bates - Silver and Marilyn Luck – Bronze. Both bowlers are from Victoria and won these medals in the B1 Singles competition. Marilyn Luck and Hazel Hockley also won a Bronze medal in the 4-Person Team (Handicap) along with Donna (NSW) and Susan (SA). Congratulations to everyone in the team, whether a medal was won or not. The four bowlers from Victoria – Allan Bates, Hazel Hockley, Paul Holmes and Marilyn Luck were supported by a funding grant from Vision Australia Ltd. Hazel Hockley was also sup[ported by a funding grant from the City of Melbourne. We would like to take this opportunity of thanking all our supporters, family and friends who assisted us in a variety of ways.
