3rd IBSA WORLD TENPIN BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIPS

This was hosted by Australia in Campbelltown, New South Wales, from 2nd November to 11th November 2007.  There were nine countries attending, unfortunately Mongolia was unable to attend due to visa problems.  However the bowlers and support staff from Chinese Tiepei, Czech Republic, Finland, Great Britain, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, United States of America and Australia all enjoyed the championships as well as the extra entertainment organized for the countries.  Overall there were 73 bowlers competing.

Australia won 18 medals, which included 2 gold medals for Susan (SA).  Congratulations to Allan Bates - Silver and Marilyn Luck – Bronze.  Both bowlers are from Victoria and won these medals in the B1 Singles competition.  Marilyn Luck and Hazel Hockley also won a Bronze medal in the 4-Person Team (Handicap) along with Donna (NSW) and Susan (SA).  Congratulations to everyone in the team, whether a medal was won or not.

The four bowlers from Victoria – Allan Bates, Hazel Hockley, Paul Holmes and Marilyn Luck were supported by a funding grant from Vision Australia Ltd.  Hazel Hockley was also sup[ported by a funding grant from the City of Melbourne.  We would like to take this opportunity of thanking all our supporters, family and friends who assisted us in a variety of ways.
