BLIND SPORTS

VICTORIA

Recreation is a very important part of life for all people. Blind Sports Victoria (BSV) assists people who have low vision or no vision to take part in a wide variety of sports. Assistance can also be provided with finding volunteers.

BSV was established in 1977 and is the state parent sporting association currently representing a variety of sports.

BSV are members of the Australian Blind Sports Federation through which National and International competitions are organised. This enables
legally blind competitors to take part in State, National and International
events such as the Paralympics and World Championships.

Walking With Willpower

During 2007, Blind Sports Victoria is undertaking a short-term project entitled Walking With Willpower.

This exciting project promotes fitness, wellbeing and community involvement by matching adults who have low or no vision with a friendly volunteer to share together the benefits of walking.

The project has been funded by the ANZ Staff Foundation with additional funding from William Angliss (Victoria) Charitable Fund. Click here to read more
